In 1974, Bully, a Queensland Blue Heeler, was said to be ‘part fish, part mountain goat, and definitely a part of the SEA transmission line construction team’.
Bob bought Bully as a pup and they worked together on several transmission lines. Bob said ‘He took to it quite naturally. I was up the ladder one day and Bully just followed me up’.
When the men were stringing the lines across the Logan River, Bully decided to ‘lend a paw’. He carried the pilot line across the river. With the light line tied around him, Bully swam to the other side of the river. He was cheered by the construction workers on the far bank.
